Amado electivo

My favorite subject this semester is called Gender and Media Representation. I chose this elective because the name caught my attention and I wanted to introduce myself in the world of gender violence and feminism, as well as the teacher who makes the bouquet in a very dynamic and cultured woman.

In this course we analyze a different topic by class through texts, documentaries and films. Some of the themes we have touched on have been: Feminism, stereotype of beauty, masculinities, sexism, among others.

Thanks to everything we have studied in classes I have been able to form my own vision of society and criticize things that seem wrong to me, I have learned to know myself, forgive myself and value myself more as a woman.

I learned not to normalize situations of violence that sometimes we find difficult to see and understand the role that as a woman we have as rights persons. I like to analyze films and read texts because that makes the bouquet entertaining and not a huge academic burden.

I hope to find another similar bouquet next semester that will allow me to continue growing as a person and apply what I learned in my career.
